Bethlehem Premier

The Bethlehem Premier program of Bethlehem Soccer Club offers a challenging and rewarding environment for youth to obtain excellent professional coaching in a nurturing but competitive environment.  Our excellent facilities complement our great roster of coaches, many of which hold USSF national coaching licenses.  We especially welcome players from the southern Capital District including but not limited to Guilderland, Colonie, Albany, Troy, East Greenbush, Chatham, Ravena-Coeymans, Voorheesville and the Hilltowns.

Coaches of the individual teams manage their own tryouts. Generally, the Club expects the coach to select players that are consistent with that coach's professional philosophy. The categories are the same as in travel; speed, strength, skill level, coachability, tactical decision-making, speed of play, use of space, teamwork, fitness, and more. [Once again, please note these items are not in any way, shape, or form a prioritized list.]

At the conclusion of the tryouts, coaches provide the premier committee (a committee established by the Club) with a proposed team roster. As per CDYSL rules, premier clubs cannot formally request a player to commit prior to August 15th. At that time the coach, team manager or premier committee member will formally invite successful candidates to join the team.

Our premier coaches are all professional coaches with experience far beyond coaching community travel teams. Part of their responsibility is to put together a team roster, which can balance and maximize player improvement and team competitiveness. We expect our premier coaches to, in essence, run small soccer schools in which they set the entry criteria and curriculum for their team over a number of years.
